May 3rd is the International Sun day. In recent years, the importance of the Sun and solar power has been rapidly growing.
In 2050, the share of the energy gained from the Sun will be the second largest after the wind energy amounting to 25%. For similar interesting facts, please visit the link.

  Interesting facts:

In EU member states, in the specific weight of the main sources of energy production, the non- traditional method has exceeded the energy from fossil fuels. Energy gained from the Sun and wind has provided 20% of the energy consumed by these countries. The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium, in particular, have recorded a significant growth among EU member states (source:  https://bit.ly/3ugq39d ).

Armenia has significant solar energy potential. The average annual amount of solar energy flow per square meter of horizontal surface amounts approximately 1,720 kWh (European average - 1000 kWh). One fourth of the country’s territory has solar energy resources at a level of 1,850 kWh per square meter (source- https://bit.ly/33gLXwV).

More effective and powerful energy may be gained in the highest areas of RA- Sevan Basin (higher than 1900 meters), where the number of sunny days makes 2800 hours (source - https://bit.ly/3xKf5d).
Autonomous solar energy producers, physical entities or legal entities, may construct a solar power station with up to 150 KW capacity to meet their needs without the license (LOE Article 23). For legal entities, this limit has been increased to 500 kW, and for individuals it remains 150 kW (source- https://bit.ly/33gLXwV).
Tokelau is the only country in the World, where 100% of the energy consumed is gained through the solar panels. New Zeeland granted the necessary number of panels to this small island- state (source- https://bit.ly/337Hnkz).
