The new edition of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Most Common Economic Terms, republished by the NGO Economic Journalists Club with the support of ARMECONOMBANK OJSC, was presented on September 1, Knowledge Day.

The event was attended by representatives of the editorial board of the publication, the Central Bank of Armenia, the academic community, and the journalistic sphere.

The updated reissue of the dictionary was driven by the emergence in recent years of new directions and terms in the economy, related to global economic changes, technological innovations, international economic interactions, and the development of the digital economy, all of which require modern, accurate, and clear explanations.

The first edition of the Explanatory Dictionary was published in 2008, again with the support of ARMECONOMBANK. It was designed to enrich economic journalists’ financial knowledge, making economic terms more accessible and practical for use in analytical work.

“17 years later, the reissue of this dictionary once again proves that the need to develop financial literacy among journalists and, why not, among different groups of society remains relevant. A considerable amount of time has passed, new fields have emerged, and therefore the vocabulary of the 2008 dictionary needed to be expanded with new terms and their interpretations,” said Anna Baghdasaryan, President of the NGO Economic Journalists Club.

Within the framework of corporate social responsibility, ARMECONOMBANK continues to support programs that promote education and knowledge, considering them an important prerequisite for financial awareness and mutually beneficial financial management.
